1. ATS has an excellent faculty of Asians and Westerners.
We work at excellence and work well together, demonstrating the international character of the church of Jesus Christ.
2. At ATS, theology means relevance.
While stressing deep grounding in the Bible that all ministers of the Word need, we do not hesitate to face pressing issues of the day as we make disciples of all nations. Discipleship includes being salt and light in our world.
3. The ATS community is united in essentials but fosters freedom to disagree in other areas of Christian doctrine.
Already, we have about 100 denominations and Christian groups represented in our student body. We are all committed to the Bible as the Word of God, and we recognize our diversity as an expression of our freedom in Christ.
4. It is economical to study at ATS.
All students are subsidized. Student fees cover approximately one fourth of our operating expenses. The rest of our budget must come from friends and supporters, from churches here and abroad, and from fellowship groups in such places as Brunei and the Middle East. To earn an equivalent degree in the West costs anywhere from five to ten times what it costs to study in ATS.
5. Students of ATS go back home to serve God in their own countries.
How many of the Asians who study in the West eventually return to serve in their country of origin? Unfortunately, not many. In contrast, the track record of Asians who have come to study at ATS has been amazingly good. The Burmese, Chinese, Indians, Indonesians, Koreans, Malaysians, Pakistanis, Thais and Vietnamese who have studied with us have faithfully fulfilled their obligations to their supporters, churches and missions.
