His Stories

A Life Transformed for God’s Glory

by: Bro. Thawng Tha Hmung, Myanmar

M.A. in Biblical Studies

Serving the Lord is one of the greatest joys in my life. Since the beginning of my journey, I’ve been actively involved in ministry—both in the church and through personal evangelism. Whether I’m preaching to a congregation or sharing the gospel in someone’s home, I know God is with me. His presence gives me strength and courage.

Currently, I serve at Christ the Living Gospel (CLG) in Marikina. By God’s grace, I’m entrusted with preaching once a month. When I’m not scheduled to preach, I’m often asked to lead our devotional service before praise and worship begins. These opportunities not only deepen my faith but also help me grow—spiritually and even linguistically—as I practice preaching in English, which is my third language.

One of the ministries close to my heart is weekly outreach to a family. Every Saturday night, I visit their home to share God’s Word and pray with them. Though we only spend about an hour together, their openness and attentiveness to the gospel bring me deep joy. It’s a reminder that every soul matters and that God’s love reaches into every home, every heart.

Through all of this, my passion remains clear: to bring people back into the presence of God. Soul-winning is not just a task—it’s my calling, and I will continue in it for as long as the Lord allows.

This year, I am continuing my studies in the Master of Arts in Biblical Studies program, and I hope to graduate in 2026. The academic journey, especially in areas like linguistics, has been challenging—but I know it will bear fruit in the ministry God has called me to. I believe the knowledge and training I gain here will bless not only our church but also those outside its walls.

I am deeply thankful for the ministry partners of ATS that made this journey possible. Your generosity has been a great encouragement.

Please continue to pray for me as I press on toward graduation. I also pray that God’s peace and abundant blessings be with all our donors and supporters. May the story He is writing in my life bring Him glory and inspire others to serve Him faithfully.

Thawng prays to return to Myanmar for ministry after graduating in 2026.
