COVID-19 Update

ATS COMMUNITY REACHES OUT TO QC JAIL, PAYATAS

Instead of being disillusioned by the onslaught of the virus, ATS reached out to community members who needed help by distributing food and health kits. This initiative was spearheaded by Dr. Athena Gorospe.

With #LoveThyNeighbor in mind, a team consisting of faculty, staff, students, and alumni delivered the first wave of donations to the Quezon City Jail. They also provided packed lunch for the 40 jail personnel (including eight medical frontliners) who were unable to go home or go outside to buy food.

The Lord blessed us with great responses from the community, and we received more resources for our community project. So for the second wave of donations, we were able to send supplies to the QC Jail in Kamuning and to their Isolaation Center in Payatas as well.

We made a third and final delivery to the Quezon City Male Jail in Kamuning and the NCR Covid-19 Isolation Center in Payatas. The ATS Community Project 2020 was a one and ½ months journey. This has made an impact in controlling and mitigating the virus’s effects in these centers. It gave encouragement to the frontliners who have been on lockdown with the PDLs (Persons Deprived of Liberty) and brought smiles on the faces of the jail inmates. It helped them remember that they are not forgotten—and that God and other people still care for them.

To God be all the Glory!
