The Asian Theological Seminary (ATS) has successfully held its third anti-corruption Public Forum, “Addressing Systemic Corruption: The Anti-Dynasty Bill” on October 26, 2026 at the ATS Chapel.
Guest speaker Dr. Carmel Abao, Assistant Professor at the Ateneo De Manila University Department of Political Science and co-convenor of the Anti-Dynasty Network (ADN) shed light on the uphill battle of pushing a Constitutionally-mandated Anti-Dynasty legislation and what an ideal law must cover. Meanwhile, guest speaker Atty. Alex Lacson, author and President of Dapat Isa Lang, tackled their organization’s long-term people’s initiative to end political dynasties in the country.
ATS Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dr. Athena Gorospe and Associate Dean for Faculty Dr. Samson Uytanlet offered biblical perspectives on political dynasties from the Old and New Testaments respectively.
The two preceding forums tackled the culture of corruption deeply embedded in the Philippine government and how ordinary citizens can demand financial accountability from public servants.
